2020 Honda CR-V Spotted

Honda CR-V is a handsome looking SUV known for its soft and premium features rather than rugged looking like its rivals. And to keep up the pace among its competition, a facelift trim of Honda CR-V could come to India by 2020.

Talking about how the 2020 Honda CR-V will look then for starters there are no significant changes as such and the car will get minor cosmetic upgrades. The headlights are cornered well now along with a new grille design upfront and larger chrome centre bar.

The rear profile of the car also see some changes. The rear bumper is redesigned along with trapezoid exhaust tips and also some changes to the quarter panel. It’s not clear if it will get a revamped interior design but we expect some added features to the SUV. It will keep the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There will be no changes made under the hood and it will continue to sport a 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Four cylinder petrol motor generates a total of 152 bhp at 6500 rpm with 188 Nm of peak torque at 4300 rpm.

The diesel motor churns out 118 bhp and a healthy torque of 300 Nm. It gets mated to a 9-speed AT gearbox while the petrol motor is available only with a CVT. Claimed fuel efficiency for the oil burner is 19.8 kmpl while that of the petrol stands at 14.4 kmpl.

We can also expect Honda to introduce a plug-in hybrid model in India when the facelift gets launched. It is already available in Europe, where the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor gets mated with a 1 kWh motor to make 185 bhp.

Features onboard Honda CR-V boasts a fully digital instrument cluster, auto headlamps, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, push button start, 3+ 12V Power outlets, Cruise control and among others.

Safety features include ABS with EBD, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child mount seats, Six Airbags, Seat Belt Reminders, Brake Assist, Speed Sensing Door Lock and Lane Watch. Basically, the latter gives a wide camera view of the right screen on the centre screen.

Honda CR-V is priced at a premium of Rs 28.33 lakh for the base trim petrol and goes all the way to Rs 32.83 lakh for the all-wheel-drive diesel trim. It competes with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu MU-X, Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan and Ford Endeavour. All prices mentioned above are based on ex-showroom, Delhi.
